BSN, PMHNP-I

Ashley, a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Intern, values connection with others as the foundation of her profession. She sees each person as an individual, rather than a diagnosis, which allows her to tailor treatment to each person’s unique life circumstances.

Ashley has had the opportunity to work in the mental health field in many different settings over the last 5 years. Each setting focused on a different component of the mental health journey. In residential treatment, she assisted clients in obtaining effective and sustainable coping skills prior to stepping back into life. As a charge nurse in inpatient psychiatry, Ashley supported patients during crisis and connected them to proper resources and next steps. Her most recent experience in substance use detox has been impactful in developing her care style. She reminded clients of their innate self-worth through promoting dignity and treating them with compassion. These combined experiences have led to a deeper appreciation of the human spirit during all phases of life.

Ashley not only loves connecting with people, but with all living things. She spends her spare time browsing the animal shelter’s adoption page, training her rescue dog, managing her cat’s kidney disease, and propagating house plants.
